How to Fiverr like a Pro - Beginner to Pro Guide
A detailed guide to become a Pro Fiverr seller
Introduction
I used to edit resumes in my college and also help juniors and seniors to make up-to-the-mark resumes. Also, I created a resume builder and own ATS system to create and audit resumes and learn more about editing resumes with the maximum amount of ATS score so that anyone can land interviews and able to get their dream job.
So, after 8 months of being SDE - Backend at Wellthy Therapeutics, I thought let’s start helping people online by editing their resumes for Software Engineer roles.
Setup
I figured out 3 major platforms for freelancing in writing which provide all major features such as gig creation and payment setup.
out of 3, I decided to start my freelancing career on Fiverr.
Profile Creation
Signup on Fiverr and Create a profile with all the necessary details.
Add a perfect description with all the background information and a call to action.
Add a bio to the profile which should be very specific to your work.
Fiverr provide a skill test list which can improve your profile growth.
Add relevant certifications to gain trust.
Turn on the availability online.
Editing Gig
Now we are heading to the most important part of Fiverr - "Gig Creation" Few things which you could check before doing this.
Check all the other gig sellers and their gig descriptions and gig titles as per your gig category.
Choose a simple and relevant gig title.
Adding keywords for search tags.
The price segment is very crucial for beginners, it’s always better to start with $5.
Adding a call to action and your past work reference, don’t exceed >850 words.
Add questions in the requirements section.
The gallery section is very important for a visual representation of the gig, add a video also.
For editing images and videos use Canva.
Sharing Gig
Now that you are set with the gig, now we have to start sharing your gig on relevant communities and groups or famous post comments sections on multiple platforms such as
Growth
On Fiverr, you can increase growth in multiple ways like sharing the gig and promotion. Generally, on Fiverr, it entirely depends on the gig type for growth. It can take from 2 months to 6 months.
Managing Orders
Fiverr has a great feature of limiting orders, enabling you to have the maximum number of concurrent orders at a time.
Sometimes the requirement gathering takes time due to multiple timezone and management. It's better to use tools like Jira or ClickUp. Or If you can create an SOP - Standard of Procedure for each step then you can use excel to track all the orders.
Managing and communicating well will give you an edge over others and if you want to extend the gig duration don't hesitate to buyers telling this, they want a perfect product.
Providing an above-and-beyond product can provide you with some tips at the end of the gig.
Managing Reviews
On Fiverr, it will be a little awkward to ask for a review. But you have to work on reviews and ask for them on the first meeting and always deliver over google meet or zoom.
For future gigs, reviews give a sense of trust to new buyers.
Improve communication skills
Have complete knowledge about the gig you are selling and try to set up multiple meetings on google meet or zoom just to understand the requirements clearly.
If they expect anything more specific then talks about it more and explains your thoughts and listen to them.
Current Status of My Fiverr profile
Due to my work and seniority, I have to work more on the technical side and I am planning to expand my knowledge on core technical stuff I am working on the content writing stuff also.
